1. Knowledge of group dynamics
2. An ability to implement a variety of teaching strategies
3. Well-defined, achievable goals
4. Thorough planning
5. A classroom environment that is stimulating and provides for acceptance, tolerance and success for every student
6. Knowledge of how to plan for successful learning outcomes
7. Well established routines that are effective, efficient and are well understood by all students
8. A high level of fitness and are healthy and not under stress

Good order in the classroom is the result of the co-operative efforts of the classroom teacher and the students. When either of these is not functioning properly, classroom behaviour deteriorates, control is lost and learning suffers.
